Situated in an urban location 1 kilometre from Richmond and 13 kilometres from Nelson City, the
school provides educational and residential programmes.
Salisbury's buildings reflect the residential and teaching needs of the school. Facilities
include a gymnasium, swimming pool, library, tennis courts, adventure playground, sports field and
recreation areas.
These are attractively set in five hectares with staff houses and historical outbuildings.
The school is well resourced and staffed by teachers, residential social workers, counsellors,
domestic and support staff. As and when required, the school has access to specialised personnel,
eg Group Special Education, Physiotherapists, General Practitioners, etc. It is also well
