Salisbury provides education in a residential setting for students who are in Years 3-10 on enrolment, whose complex learning needs are not being met in their local community school setting.
Our students require significant curriculum adaptation due to potential underlying intellectual impairment and associated social and emotional difficulties. Social skills programmes are integrated throughout our curriculum and the residential facility runs a daily living and life skills curriculum which sits alongside the school-based curriculum.
Salisbury is the only single sex residential (boarding) school of its type in New Zealand and consists of a 24 hour a day, seven day a week living and learning environment in Richmond, Nelson. Students reside during term time and return home each holidays.
