Exciting change in enrolment criteria

We are delighted to share a significant change to criteria associated with the ‘RSS Only’ enrolment pathway into residential schools. Criteria 3 from this enrolment pathway now no longer requires all local learning supports to be fully utilised before a young person can apply for a residential placement. This revised criteria now reads:

“Local learning support services have been considered or tried. However, RSS intervention is believed to be the best way of meeting the child/young person’s needs.”

This shift recognises that a residential placement may hold greater benefit at an earlier point for many students.
